Enhancing Your Flyer Advertisement

Enhancing Your Flyer Advertisement

Flyers are one of the cheapest but most effective ways to market a product or service.

Keywords:

Creating blazing flyers that focus on benefits will go a long way toward making a successful sale and more money.

When you are selling something or opening a new store you need to advertise. But oftentimes people starting up a business do not have enough cash to advertise. This is where flyer printing can help you. Flyers are one of the cheapest but most effective ways to market a product or service. They can be typically produced as handouts that can be distributed during street fairs or parades or keepers that can be mailed and send out to selected prospects.

One common mistake that business owners commit when advertising through flyers is distributing these promotional materials. This can be a costly mistake. So to avoid losing customers you have to consider your type of business in the first place. Make sure that you put it up in a location where most of your target customers are located. After considering these you can distribute your flyer within and around your existing cluster of customers. Remember also to reach the right people in the area. If your flyer is about lawn care or landscaping it will be a waste to distribute it to apartments. Thus, carefully point out your prospects before going out and distributing your flyers.

To enhance the marketability of your flyer add something unique to it. You can experiment with horizontal, vertical or diagonal cuts. Doing so, you can make the flyer funkier and eye catching. Also, do not underestimate the use of the color black. Even for a colorful print black is a must. It can be used for headings, subheadings and headlines.

In addition, aside from using door to door distribution post the flyers in areas were it is allowed. For ease in distribution you can keep a few flyers in your car so that when the opportunity arises you can easily hand it out or post it. On top of this, it is important to stick with the image and message that you have told your customers the first day you created your flyer. So when you print new flyers do not change your story just to make it more interesting. Remember that customers want consistency and professionalism. They are more loyal to businesses that they can trust. Hence, whether you mail, hang up or hand out your flyers make your flyer say ‘look at me’.

What To Say To, “Is This A Pyramid Scheme?”

What To Say To, “Is This A Pyramid Scheme?”

On a call yesterday following the pyramid post, people wanted to know what to say if, they’re presenting the business or product, someone pops the question,

“Is this a pyramid?”

Before you brainstorm over your winning comeback, how about a quick check to see whether 1) your company acts like one or not, or 2) if you are acting like one (without realizing it, of course)?

On a call yesterday following the pyramid post, people wanted to know what to say if, they’re presenting the business or product, someone pops the question,

“Is this a pyramid?”

Before you brainstorm over your winning comeback, how about a quick check to see whether 1) your company acts like one or not, or 2) if you are acting like one (without realizing it, of course)?

Here’s the question we discussed:

1. Is your business all about recruiting?

If so, you are acting like a pyramid, according to Rushkoff’s book, Coercion:

“a pyramid scheme is…[where] the need to subscribe newcomers outweighs whatever benefits the products or system has to offer. Many MLMs sell distributorships more than cosmetics [name your product or service - KK].”

Yes of course you want to recruit reps – but if that’s all you do, you are in the pyramid zone, because you give the impression that the product and customers don’t matter, except to sell distributorships.

Everyone quickly re-evaluated what they were doing to be sure they weren’t coming across like that.

All could see how a fixation on doing 1. above might give someone else the impression that “Yep, there goes one of those pyramid schemers.”

After a quick review of 9 different company pay plans (of distributors on the phone) it became clear – it’s true what the recruiters say: “There’s no money in customers. All the money’s in the recruiting.”

Company owners decide where to put the money they pay their reps. Say a network marketing company pays out to the field, 50% of what it takes in. They have complete disgression on how to divide that up – between paying for recruiting and amassing customers (for those companies that make the recruiter/customer distinction – and some don’t.)

So, how much were companies paying for getting customers (who were not also distributors)?

On product orders ranging from $85-120, some people reported getting paid from 0 – 7%. In one company, they got nothing on those customer orders if they hadn’t reached a certain position in the company based on their sales; and for other companies, the reps reported getting 5 or 6% for orders of $100. (A few paid more. List to be posted soon.)

Five bucks for a hundred dollar customer order?

There are much easier ways to make money than that!

However, for recruiting, we got much higher returns. With sign-up bonuses and fast start bonuses of $50-350 or more, for orders ranging from $300-1000.

Who else wouldn’t rather make $50 than $5 for making one sale? Big money in selling distributorships (which may include products). Versus getting just customers.

So yes, companies whose pay plans are weighted so much to recruiting are acting like a pyramid. Worse, they make their reps look like it too, since they want to get the most return they can for their time, and would rather make $50 than $5. Who wouldn’t?

Well, as they say, if it quacks like a….

Oh. What to say to that question, “Is this a pyramid” (or ‘one of those things’)? One option (we discussed several):

Let me tell you what we do, and you can call it whatever you want ok?

PAUSE

We market products directly to consumers, people like you and me, and we also find people who want to do that with us. You think you could do that if I showed you what to do?

(That’s from the Truth book.)

And yes, there are other options…for another post…send in yours that have helped. (Use ‘Comments’ below).

How Do I Extract The Maximum Money Out Of Google Adsense

How Do I Extract The Maximum Money Out Of Google Adsense

Below are some tips to help you optimize your pages to make them more Adsense-friendly. Note that these tips deal with ad delivery rather than ad formatting or placement. While ad formatting and placement may affect ad click-through rates, they have nothing to do with the delivery of relevant ads to your site. Your site must display relevant ads before they have any chance of being clicked on.

1. Avoid too much content on a page
If Adsense does not understand what is your page is about, it cannot deliver ads targeted to its content. Although a human being can easily tell what a web page is about by taking a glance at it, computer algorithms are no so intelligent. If your page contains too much content, chances are that it also contains too many seemingly unrelated keywords. Adsense becomes confused and displays PSAs or ads unrelated to the topic of your page. Try dividing the page into smaller ones, each focusing on just a few related keywords.

2. Avoid too little content on a page
If your page contains lots of graphics and very little text, Adsense may have a hard time figuring out what it is about. This is especially true when the bulk of your content is derived from graphics and scripts. When possible, use text rather than graphics to display website names, page titles, and headline texts. Make certain to include your keywords in the title of your page and repeat them throughout the page. Avoid hiding your text through sneaky tactics, such as using tiny fonts or making your text the same color as the background. This may be construed by search engines as spam.

3. Repeat keywords that you are targeting
Keyword repetition makes it easier for Adsense to decipher what your page is about. Do this in moderation as excessive repetition may be considered spam by the search engines. Excessive repetition may also make your writing sound awkward to the human reader. Instead of repeating the same keyword more than 5 or 6 times on a page, use synonyms and related keywords. For example, instead of repeating “Adsense optimization” 20 times, you might try alternative phrases like “increase Adsense revenues” or “earn more from Adsense”.

4. Avoid acronyms
I once wrote an article on pay-per-click advertising for one of my sites. When I uploaded the article to my site, I was surprised to find that all of the ads showing on the page were for Apple computer products and had nothing to do with pay-per-click. It later occurred to me that instead of repeating “pay-per-click” over and over in the article, I used the acronym “PPC” numerous times. As it turned out, “PPC” also stands for “PowerPC”, Apple’s line of Power Macintosh computers, which explained why I was getting all the Apple related ads. When I replaced all the “PPCs” with “pay-per-click” and “pay per click”, the problem went away.

5. Choose keywords with commercial value
You may get public service announcements rather than paid ads if your page deals with a subject matter whose keywords no one bids on. A remedy for this is to incorporate keywords with commercial value into your manuscript. For instance, if your page is on some obscure medical condition, you might try sprinkling a few drug names into your document to make it display paid ads rather than PSAs.

What is Graphic Design and How Can It Help My Business?

What is Graphic Design and How Can It Help My Business?

As the number of companies, products and services increase, an effective eye catching design is a critical element for marketing your business.

Keywords:
graphic design, graphic designer, print, logo design, company branding

Graphic design is an art and for professional results you should be utilising the skills of someone that can demonstrate relevant experience in the field of design, advertising, typography, print and the use of colour. Desktop publishing is not graphic design.

It is important that your advertising materials should be well designed to create the initial visual impact before the user reads the information or explores the website.

As the number of companies, products and services increase, an effective eye catching design is a critical element for marketing your business. An innovative design will help differentiate your company from the competition

A professional qualified graphic designer should take an individual approach to graphic design and with each clients project should produce strong creative designs appropriate for that business or service.

Graphic design done for print can be adapted for use on the web and CD ROM which means you can have strong corporate branding throughout your range of advertising materials.

High quality graphics for print should be processed by a highly regarded professional printer, one who has demonstrated that they can consistently produce high quality printed materials. Don’t cut corners and for the sake of saving a few pounds use a printer that will not do the graphics justice.

Do you need to consider branding & image for your companies materials?
Brands are not just for big companies, they can also make smaller businesses stand out from the crowd and can play a significant part in helping your business or services become the first choice for customers.

In increasingly competitive markets, it is important to establish a strong company (corporate) image or brand which will give potential new customers a true idea of what they are buying before they buy it which should make that decision easier to make for them. Existing customers trust strong brands because they know exactly what to expect and they will keep coming back to you.

If you want to build and manage a strong company brand or image you will need to convey a consistent message to your customers in all ways that you communicate with them.

Strong branding is achieved by a consistency in your marketing tools of which the following are examples:

Web site, Business name, Names of products or services, Company slogan, Company logo, Style and quality of your business stationery including brochures, business cards, letterheads, flyers, folders, Product packaging.

It is important that you commission a professional designer to obtain good quality visual images – photographs and graphics, which will ensure that your marketing materials have maximum impact.

A professional graphic design service will provide high quality graphics which can be adapted for use on your website as well as in all your printed materials such as business stationery, letterheads, business cards, brochures and flyers. High quality graphic designs can also be used on your large conference boards and to build interfaces for an interactive CD Rom which is becoming a more popular way of distributing information about a companies products or services.

Viral Marketing – Making Your Site Sell Itself

Do you remember making snowmen when you were a kid? Remember how you started with a little ball of snow, and kept rolling the ball until it became a large ball? Did you ever roll your ball of snow down the hill and watch as it got bigger and bigger and bigger!?

Well, that’s how viral marketing works. You start a viral marketing campaign, give it a push, and it goes under its own power, getting bigger and bigger. Of course, all the while it is creating traffic to your website and generating sales for you. Quite an attractive setup, huh?

Truth be told, a successful viral marketing campaign requires some time, effort, and investment to get it started, but if you do it right, it’s worth it.

A good viral marketing plan could be broken down into three parts:

1- The bait
To start with, you need a free gift that you can give away. It must be extremely valuable, because you want people to share it with their friends, etc. Some examples would be an ebook, a video, a forum, etc.

2- The hook
Once you have created your bait that you’re going to distribute to people (and they to others, and they to others, etc, etc), you need a hook. You need a way to bring all of these people who are enjoying your free gift back to your website to buy. If you’re giving away an ebook, embed links to your website in the ebook. Depending on the product, you’ll have to use different kinds of hooks – be innovative!

3- Marketing
Yes, that’s right! You have to market your viral marketing campaign. (This is the push that you give your snowball to send it rolling down the hill.) You have to promote your free gift, so that people start using it and distributing it.

Viral marketing can be an extremely effective marketing method – but it will require some time, effort, and lots of ingenuity on your part. Happy marketing!

Top 5 Reasons for Buying a Used Trade Show Booth

Buying a used trade show booth is the answer to your dilemma! Which is also the first reason for buying a used booth. Money! Yes, you can save quite a bit of money by purchasing a used one. Used trade show booths can be big bargains and can be found to fit most any budget, no matter how small.

You’ve done a couple of trade shows, rented a couple of spaces in exhibition halls, and admit it, you’re hooked. You love the excitement of the crowds, of meeting your clients up close and in person. Hey, you don’t even mind your aching feet! And you’ve been thinking that you’d like to do more trade shows and want a booth of your own.

The trouble is you can’t really afford to go all out yet and have a brand spanking new booth designed. Your bottom line is saying no, but your heart and intuition are saying yes.

Buying a used trade show booth is the answer to your dilemma! Which is also the first reason for buying a used booth. Money! Yes, you can save quite a bit of money by purchasing a used one. Used trade show booths can be big bargains and can be found to fit most any budget, no matter how small.

The second reason you should consider buying a used trade show booth is that the affordability factor means that the money you save can be put into other trade show event promotional items. Face it, people not only want free stuff from you at a trade show, they expect it. And the more money you can spend on your promo items, the better!

A third reason for buying a used trade show booth is that if you plan to do a lot of trade shows, it only makes sense to own your own booth-for the same reason it makes more sense to buy a house than to rent an apartment. You make your investment in a used trade show booth and it’s yours to keep forever-or sell to someone else when you’re ready to upgrade to a brand new booth. The money you’ve saved in booth rentals will go a long way toward your purchase of the booth of your dreams.

Fourth, buying a used trade show booth not only lowers your financial risks, it lowers your stress levels as well! Financially, you’ve invested only what you can spend, which has pleased your bottom line. And because you own your trade show booth, you can relax, knowing exactly what you have and not having the stress of worrying if the booth rental will be on time, up to snuff, etc. This means you have more time and energy to put into other important things-like packing great clothes to take with you to the trade show!

Finally, the fifth reason you should consider buying a used trade show booth is that it allows you to learn the ups and downs of trade show events and work out all the bugs in your trade show exhibition program without having to make a major investment. This makes it possible to please yourself, your accountant and your customers, while learning if trade show events are truly profitable and worth the effort for your business.

Link trading is a great, free way to promote your small or home-based business. However, many links pages are crowded with inappropriate or disorganized links, taking away from the professionalism of the website. Here are a few tips to make your links page work for you:

1. Place your links page at the end of your website. Believe it or not, I’ve actually seen links pages placed high on the site map. The first thing you want your clients to see is your services, not the services of another company.

2. Don’t trade links with online gambling or game sites, unless it truly relates to your business. For example, if you are a financial planner, yet include links on your site for online gambling, it takes away from the professionalism of your site.

3. Don’t trade links with competitors. While you want to keep the links on your website relative to your business, you don’t want to lose business.

4. Trade links with companies that can provide useful information or services to your target audience. Your clients will appreciate the information, and your business will gain a reputation for excellent customer service.

5. Organize your links page. Links that are crowded too closely together look unprofessional, as do links that are in no particular order. Organize your links into categories using headings and lines or dividers to separate the categories. Do not list categories with links to other pages that actually contain the useful links. This detracts from your site and uses extra bandwidth.

If you follow these simple guidelines, you will build a professional links page that boosts your business and offers you a great reputation for professionalism and customer care.

Fast Food Operator has Found an Innovative Restaurant Marketing System

Stop Wasting Time and Money on Gimmicks and Start Generating Profit from every Restaurant Marketing Dollar.

This morning Tom Martin was the plumber; by mid-morning he was the accountant. All afternoon he was busy doing research and development and ended his workday concentrating on purchasing. Like many small business owners, Tom Martin wears many hats on a typical day. In 1969 he bought his first Taco Box restaurant. A few years later he opened a second and then a third location. Today he operates the Taco Box restaurants in Clovis and Portales, N. M. Business has been good, but Martin is convinced that it will get better.

Despite all of his responsibilities Martin has recently begun to focus on restaurant marketing in a whole new fashion. “For 20 years I have been working with a local advertising agency purchasing bulk radio ads and print ads. We had a birthday club and had gathered some customers’ addresses, but the account representative didn’t know how to make it work,” says Martin.

He continues: “I once heard the following quote, ‘Half of the money spent on advertising is wasted. I just don’t know which half.’ We were never able to track the results from our advertising dollars. I knew there had to be a better way; but being busy running our stores, I never had the time to get out there and try to figure out other restaurant marketing systems.”

Over the years, Martin has purchased numerous restaurant marketing books and followed several of the restaurant marketing gurus. “I have always been skeptical of some of their claims to get rich overnight. I tend to be a plodder and prefer to build our business sensibly and methodically,” says Martin.

Recently Martin started working with a restaurant marketing group that specializes in helping restaurants to build sound, trackable marketing using marketing software. “I like their philosophy of using a systematic approach to marketing; it matches mine.” The restaurant marketing coaches are helping Martin to begin building and structure his database.

RMG supplies the marketing software that makes it easy for Martin to capture and manage the database. In Martin’s case, he has one marketing employee that works part time doing office work. Part of her duties is to enter the data into the system. She has been amazed at how easy the software is to operate.

In a typical restaurant, 30 percent of the customers are bringing in 70 percent of the business. One of Martin’s goals is to get his existing customers to increase their frequency of visiting his restaurants. In addition, he would like to increase the group size for the guests’ visit and get them to spend more when they come in. By building a database of his frequent customers and offering rewards to those loyal customers, Martin has begun accomplishing his goals using the restaurant marketing software.

In addition, Martin would like to encourage new customers to come to his store. “With the help of RMG, I have put together a new move-in program. Clovis is a military town, so there’s high turnover. Our new move-in program offers them a free meal as an incentive to become a customer. Whether or not they come in with another family member or friend or just drive through for their one free meal, I count it as a winner. The national fast food chains lose another one! I want them to see and taste the difference that we offer. Past research shows that people who have lived in our area for more than two years prefer Taco Box over the national chains. That isn’t the case with those who are new to the community. They first need to try us before we can build Taco Box brand loyalty,” says Martin.

RMG provides a weekly restaurant marketing coaching session for Martin. During that phone interview, Martin and the coaches develop the details for upcoming campaigns. In addition to the New Move-In Campaign, Martin developed a “Boxpitality Club” after the VIP Club concept where customers are asked to fill out a card indicating their birthdays and anniversary. As members, they are offered free products on their special days and receive other redeemable offers throughout the year.

“My coach is a pro and truly understands marketing. Besides the coaching, one of the things that I like most about the Restaurant Marketing Group system is that it is fully trackable. By offering redeemable offers that are time sensitive, I will know within a short amount of time exactly how profitable the promotion was and what the return was on my marketing investment,” adds Martin.

He continues: “At this point in my career, after having spent 35 years building my business, I need a shot in the arm. I believe I have found that with the RMG system. I can’t believe all the creative campaign ideas that have been presented to me. Once we have the New Move-In and our Boxpitality Club off the ground, we’ll add additional campaigns.”

Martin is starting to look at his exit strategy and plans to retire in another six years. Before he does that, he wants to see how far he can build his business with a sound marketing plan and a little help from the folks at RMG
