From Entity to Enterprise in 90 Days

There are many ways to create a profitable online business ranging from free do-it-yourself instructions to the “business in a box” solutions. Which ever method you choose, there are proven methods of increasing the visibility of your company as well as the amount of income it generates for you.

Keywords:
niche marketing, online advertising

How do some online businesses go from relative obscurity to household name in a very short period of time? While the number one answer might be advertising, it is also the most expensive method of gaining recognition. It is also extremely important that every aspect of your business model from administration to product fulfillment is flawless as you must create credibility to match that sudden increase in visibility.

The internet is an environment where creative genius is a suitable substitute for cash when it comes to gaining visibility for your company. As a matter of fact, there are many individuals who have quickly become millionaires just by repeatedly applying one successful business model within different product markets. Occasionally these individuals will share the secrets to their success for a fee, so I was overwhelmed by the time-tested strategies and course material which I found for absolutely no charge while researching ways to improve my own online business.

One of the most important strategies discussed is changing your attitude towards your competitors and viewing your competitors as potential partners. It is important to have some service or product that you are willing to cross promote with them, for a commission of course, but even more importantly for the exposure to their customer base. Since there is no brick and mortar presence, your business can only grow by exposure to new potential clients. It may cost you a small percentage of your first sale, but a large percentage of satisfied customers will return. It is a difficult concept for a new online business owner to grasp, but the majority of your company’s value is determined by the size of your customer database. The faster you build your client base, the faster you will catapult your income to seven figures or more. I would guess that the thing to do would be to partner with as many companies as possible, as quickly as possible, and then position your self for total domination.

Marketing online is so much different than I would ever have imagined. The whole concept of the more you give, the more you get, is so foreign in the physical world, but a necessary tactic of online survival. Another way of increasing your customer base is through the use of viral marketing. I know that it sounds like you are spreading a contagion, but that is in fact the concept. In a nutshell, you create an information product for whatever your market happens to be. As you are writing it, think about how much it would be worth if you sold it. Once you are satisfied that you have created a premium product, make certain that your name and contact information appear in various conspicuous places, and give it away. Not only can you literally trade it for a prospect’s name and email address, but you can encourage them to pass it on to their friends. Ideally, a file which requires their name and email to unlock it would be something to consider.

Hopefully, this information will also help you with increasing your business.
Best of luck to you.

How To Avoid Getting Your Adsense Account Terminated

How To Avoid Getting Your Adsense Account Terminated

Google, being the undisputable leader in search engines from then until now, is placing a high importance on the quality and relevancy of its search engines. Most especially now that the company is public property. In order to keep the shareholders and users of its engines happy, the quality of the returned results are given extreme importance.

For this same reason, doing the wrong things in the Adsense and other forms of advertisements, whether intentionally or unintentionally, will result in a severe penalty, may get you banned and even have your account terminated. Nothing like a good action taken to keep wrongdoers from doing the same things over again.

So for those who are thinking of getting a career in Adsense, do not just think of the strategies you will be using to generate more earnings. Consider some things first before you actually get involved.

Hidden texts. Filling your advertisement page with texts to small to read, has the same color as the background and using css for the sole purpose of loading them with rich keywords content and copy will earn you a penalty award that is given to those who are hiding links.

Multiple submissions. Submitting multiple copies of your domain and pages is another thing to stay away from. For example, trying to submit a URL of an Adsense as two separate URL’s is the same as inviting trouble and even termination. Likewise, this is a reason to avoid auto submitters for those who are receiving submissions. Better check first if your domain is submitted already an a certain search engine before you try to submit to it again. If you see it there, then move on. No point contemplating whether to try and submit there again.

Page cloaking. There is a common practice of using browser or bot sniffers to serve the bots of a different page other than the page your visitors will see. Loading a page with a bot that a human user will never see is a definite no-no. This is tricking them to click on something that you want but they may not want to go to.

Link farms. Be wary of who and what are you linking your Adsense to. The search engines know that you cannot control your links in. But you can certainly control what you link to. Link farming has always been a rotten apple in the eyes of search engines, especially Google. That is reason enough to try and avoid them. Having a link higher than 100 on a single page will classify you as a link farm so try and not to make them higher than that.

Page rank for sale. If you have been online for quite some time, you will notice that there are some sites selling their PR links or trading them with other sites. If you are doing this, expect a ban anytime in the future. It is okay to sell ads or gain the link. But doing it on direct advertisement of your page rank is a way to get on search engines bad side.

Doorways. This is similar to cloaking pages. The common practice of a page loaded with choice keyword ads aimed at redirecting visitors to another “user-friendly” page is a big issue among search engines. There are many seo firms offering this kind of services. Now that you know what they actually are, try to avoid them at all costs.

Multiple domains having the same content. In case you are not aware of it, search engines look at domains IP’s, registry dates and many others. Having multiple domains having the same exact content is not something you can hide from them. The same goes with content multiplied many times on separate pages, sub domains and forwarding multiple domains to the same content.

Many of the above techniques apply to most search engines and is not entirely for Google only. By having a mind set that you are building your Adsense together with your pages for the human users and not for bots, you can be assured of the great things for your ads and sites.

Not to mention avoiding the wrath of the search engines and getting your Adsense and site account terminated altogether.

To really start making money with Adsense, you should have a definite focus on what you wanted to achieve and how you will go about achieving them. As with any other kind of business ventures, time is needed coupled with patience. Providing you follow the TOS you will have many years with adsense.

Network Marketing is here to stay. Whether you believe it, or whether you believe IN it, you need to give yourself a reality check right now. The “corporate” way of doing business is soon going to go the way of the dinosaur. If you think that your present job, contract work, or other financial opportunities are going to pay your bills for the rest of your life, it’s time to realize that there is a new and better way of doing business, and that you need to get educated in the new tactics if you want to survive!

The same corporate-type companies such as the one you may work for right now have realized that there is a cheaper and more efficient way to distribute their products and services. That way is – of course – Network Marketing.

Most people know about network marketing, but for anyone who doesn’t, here is the nickel tour:

Network Marketing involves a company selling their products to you at a wholesale price, and allowing you to then resell those products at retail price, thus pocketing the difference between the wholesale and retail price. In addition, when you share the lucrative opportunity with someone else who also wants to make some money, you get a piece of the income generated by that person. They tell someone else who also comes on board, that person tells someone else, and on and on it goes.

Here’s the best part: Depending on which company you decide to work with, you can get a piece of the action for each of those levels that come on board down to as far as EIGHT levels! In other words, you get to make money off of the work that you personally do, and also make money from what up to 8 other people do.

It gets better. As each of those 8 people bring people into the organization, you end up with a piece of the action from all of the people that THEY bring into the business as well! Eventually, you can be getting cash and other rewards from the work of literally tens of thousands of people. Pretty sweet deal, right? So what’s the catch?

Well, if you work for the right company, there really isn’t one. However, the definition of “right” is subjective at best, and if you want to make an informed decision about whether or not to get involved in this type of extreme money-making opportunity, you need to understand more about what exactly will be involved with distributing the products or services provided by your chosen company.

Now comes the major difference between almost every network marketing company out there, and 1 very special exception, which you will learn about in a minute. Let’s start with an example.

You go to a restaurant downtown and have one of the best dining experiences of your life. You can’t stop raving to anyone who will listen about how wonderful it was, and you recommend the restaurant to everyone that you talk to. You are now a network marketer!

However, would any of those people have heard about that restaurant if you hadn’t told them? Maybe, or maybe not, but they certainly wouldn’t have heard about it as quickly as they did since you couldn’t stop talking about it for days. That’s network marketing – except that you don’t get paid for it.

Now, let’s look at an example of “Access Marketing”. That same restaurant has advertised and gone out of their way to create an actual community around their presence downtown. They have representatives that do nothing all day but tell people how great the restaurant is. They get on the news and gain instant credibility when they do an interview with everyone’s favorite reporter on the 6 o’clock news. They sponsor a local charity event and give out samples of their food for free.

What this restaurant has done is create a huge amount of public awareness about their establishment. Not everyone has actually eaten there, but people have definitely heard about it.

Now, that same restaurant hires a group of network marketers and tells the marketers that they can eat at the restaurant for a nice discount, and all they ask in return is that the network marketers tell other people to come there and eat.

The network marketers then go out into the community and say, “Have you ever heard of “Such and Such” restaurant? You should go there and eat!” The people in the community -due to the previous efforts of the restaurant- say that they have in fact heard of that restaurant, and they would love to go there and eat! Now, when the people referred to the restaurant by the network marketers come in to eat, the restaurant pays the network marketers for the referral!

So what is the difference between network marketing and access marketing? In network marketing, you are trying to get people to use products or services that they have probably never even heard of, or if they have, they really don’t know much about the company. In access marketing, you tell people to use products or services that they have heard about, and they have also heard good things about those products or services! Do you see the difference?

In other words, the company that practices Access Marketing does the advertising FOR you. All you have to do is tell people they should use those products or services, arrange for the people to get them, and the company pays you – usually quite handsomely – for your efforts.

So, all of that being said, refer back to the beginning of this article where you learned that the only way to secure your future is to learn the ins and outs of network marketing. It’s a true statement. Now ask yourself if you want to work with a company that is going to make YOU do the advertising, or a company that is going to do the advertising for you. It’s a pretty serious no-brainer, right?

What if that same company was the only company in the industry paying you up to 8 levels deep, as opposed to the 5 levels paid by most other companies? What if that same company also had a Global Bonus Pool that literally allowed you to get paid on the work done by people all over the GLOBE? What if that same company cared more about you as an individual than it cared about how many sales you generated? Want to find out the name of that company?

When business drops off, always look here

Many businesses are losing revenue because of their phone system, whether you have multiple lines, or a home phone, no matter. Either can easily lose you money.

Keywords:

It’s amazing where you can find hidden revenue when you take a moment to look around your business. Many businesses are losing revenue because of their phone system, whether you have multiple lines, or a home phone, no matter. Either can easily lose you money.

YOUR PHONE SYSTEM
Recently I’ve called a couple of clients’ phone systems. In several instances I was trapped in a queue. It was frustrating. I don’t necessarily have a problem with queues that prompt me to “press #1 for the children’s department” or “press #5 for Dr. Smith” rather, I get frustrated when I follow your recording instructions and I get no where! Thus, I hang up resulting in missed revenue.

LESSON
Call into your phone system at least once a week, no less, even if you have only one home phone line with voice mail. Call into it. Is it still working? Has your greeting suddenly disappeared? Is there even a dial-tone? Has the line been cut? Did you leave your phone plugged into your fax? Is your receptionist still pleasant or has he suddenly become fed up with his job, grumbling at callers?

If business suddenly drops off for no reason, always look to your phone. Call all your numbers, especially after you’ve requested any changes or updates from your phone provider. [We all have stories to tell about the latter.] And don’t forget to check all forwarding numbers from your yellow page ads. Can’t remember? I check mine every time the bills arrive.

A quick story….

Many years ago I worked as a marketing manager for a large telecommunications company. One afternoon my general manager tried reaching all her direct reports, only to get voice mail each time. The next morning she demanded that all voice mails be deactivated. Moving forward, the receptionist was to take all calls live and handwrite all messages.

It was a fiasco.

We were a sales-based organization. Part of the bloodline for any sales organization is their voice mail. A large majority of deals are concocted through voice mail, since all parties can be on the run and leave long winded messages, moving the deal along to closure.

Voice mail was reactivated about a week later.

MORAL OF THE STORY….

#1 – Never make critical decisions for your business out of frustration. Had the GM spoken with her direct reports first, a more stable solution could have been created, i.e., a manager is assigned to be on call each day. Because of her knee jerk decision, sales were stifled that week. Of course the GM still received her hefty paycheck, but her army of ants brought less home to their young the week after.

#2 – Voice mail is not a bad thing. It’s an incredible marketing weapon when used effectively. First and foremost, you should return all calls with 24 hours. If you need more time, then your greeting should say so. If email is faster for you, especially if you’re bombarded by vendors trying to sell you stuff, as I am, then proactively give a “unique” email address, whereby you direct all sales inquiries to this email. This way, you can cut and paste various questions you’ve already asked time and time again of other vendors, and simply email it. Make the vendor provide you the information you want. Until then, there is no reason for the two of you to have a voice conversation. Until he gives you the basics you need, i.e., Does his product reach your demographic? If it doesn’t, he’s wasting your time. And you’re wasting his time but not telling him so upfront. Remember, most salespeople have been taught to push until they get to either “no” or “yes.” Sadly, many skip over the entire part of establishing a relationship, exploring what the prospect needs, and hanging tight for when you “really” have a solution.

Start obsessing over your phone system and all touch points that impact your phone. You’re losing money.

It is a common belief that management and leadership are the same role. While it is common that a manager also plays the part of the leader, these two roles are truly separate in function and in the way they add to the success of an orginization. By understanding the difference between management and leadership you will become more effective in helping others see the road ahead.

To understand the difference between management and leadership, consider the construction of a new road. To build that road there are workers, machinery and tools which are all vital in the road’s construction. Managers help ensure those workers, machinery and tools work together in the most efficient way possible. A manager makes sure those workers are well-trained, motivated, rested and that they know what they’re supposed to do next. The manager does the same thing with the tools and the machinery to make sure that they’re working correctly and that the workers are able to use them efficiently and safely. This is the role of management. On the other hand, a leader makes sure that the road is going in the right direction before the construction begins. That leader also monitors conditions in new situations to ensure that the road under construction is still the correct one and is still going in the right direction.

How does this affect you as a leader? Are you spending your time managing people when you should be making sure that the road ahead is the one that you want to be on? To expect to be an effective leader you must present a clear vision and a trail you are willing to walk on first. While there are times when it is appropriate for a leader to fill a management role, it is vital to understand the difference between leadership and management so you can be effective no matter which role you happen to be filling at a given time. If you are a leader overseeing managers, it is important that you provide them with the correct perspective so they may be effective in their management role. Don’t manage the managers. Lead them.

If you are not in a formal leadership role, it is also important that you understand that when a leadership opportunity arises there is a difference between being a leader and managing the effort. Even if you end up filling both sets of shoes it’s important to understand the difference in roles in order to fill them effectively. If, on the other hand, you learn how to lead by showing people that you are walking down the right road, you will become a natural leader and will be able to help many others find success as your achieve your own.

Everybody who owns a website needs traffic. The best traffic everybody agrees is free search engine traffic.

We all know how difficult it is to get a website listed high in the search engines

Do you realize the biggest mistake most people make when they have a website? The answer is simple they list their websites using the old fashioned submission forms or submission directory services.

Do you realize you could have your website listed and indexed by most search engines in as little as 60 hours for a very modest fee of only $4.

YES 4 Dollars.

No this is not a scam

This is how.

To get your website listed or indexed in as little as 60 hours.

The way Google for instance works is they send spiders to crawl all of the websites. What the spiders are in fact looking for among other things are links and back links to other websites. It is however no good having links on low quality websites. What you want is your site listed on websites that have at least a Page Rank or (PR) of at least 3. If you imagine PR 0 being the lowest and PR 10 being the highest.

Google and Ebay are PR 10

Now to get listed on a PR 4 PR 5 or PR 6 can cost you hundreds. PR 7 and higher can cost thousand’s.

I have a Web Directory site currently PR 4 where you can add a reciprocal link free of charge or add a regular one way link for only $4.

Do I Have To Be A Good Writer to Market My Own Business?

Many of the most effective low-cost marketing strategies require writing. What can a small business owner do if they’re not much of a writer? Can they still market their business themselves on a shoestring budget?

Marketing is a form of communication. And you do need to be able to write well to communicate effectively.

So what do you do if you don’t write very well? You have two choices. You can hire someone else to write for you. Or you can learn how to write.

My suggestion is that you learn how to write. Writing is a skill that can be learned. And if you are writing about an area that you have expertise in, YOU are the best person to share that information with your prospects and customers.

Take a writing class at your local community college or adult school. Learn the basics of good grammar and then write, write, and write some more. Practice, practice, and practice some more. The more you write, the better you will become.

Register for and read free newsletters, ezines and special reports so you can get a feel for how they are written. There is so much information available via the web; take advantage of it.

Until you perfect your writing skills, always have someone else proofread and edit what you have written. They will catch things that you miss. They will tell you if something is unclear or confusing.

It’s even a good idea to keep this up once you get good. Proofreading and editing your own work is difficult. And typos and mistakes don’t reflect well on you or your business.

So if necessary, hire someone to do your writing until you learn or improve your skills. But do acquire the skills. Strong writing and communication skills will always benefit you in business and in life, so it will definitely be time well spent.

QuickBooks is a great accounting program for home-based businesses to track their income and expenses. It is easy to learn and simple to use. It has a great Help file. You do not need an accounting background to be able to generate reports such as a Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet needed for tax preparation and managing your business. I have listed a few key points to consider when using QuickBooks.

Cash or Accrual Basis of Accounting? The first step in setting up your company in QuickBooks is to determine if you will track income and expenses on the “Cash Basis” or “Accrual” basis. Most small businesses operate on the cash basis of accounting. What this means is you record your expenses when you write the check or charge your credit card, and you record your sales or income when you take the money to the bank and deposit it into your account. This is the easiest way to account for your transactions. Some businesses are required by the IRS to report on the accrual basis. This normally pertains to large publicly traded companies and/or some manufacturing entities. On the accrual basis, you record income at the time of sale, not at the time you receive payment. You also enter expenses when you receive the bill, not when you pay it. The choice is yours on which basis to use. QuickBooks supports both accounting methods.

Simplify the Chart of Accounts!! The most important list in your accounting system is your Chart of Accounts. You track your flow of money through this list of accounts which includes where your income comes from, where you put it, what your expenses are for, and what you use to pay them. QuickBooks’ EasyStep Interview walks you through setting up your accounts. The system also offers sample business templates that already have accounts set up for you. You can later delete or add any accounts that were initially setup in this interview to make it match your income and expenses better. Keep your chart of accounts SIMPLE! Too many accounts result in messy reports that are hard to read and analyze. Also, use descriptions for your account id’s, not numbers. If you assign account numbers for each account, you will have to memorize the numbers for fast data entry. It is much easier to type in the name of the account when entering transactions. This is a key timesaver!

Utilize Reports QuickBooks has many reports you can run for daily management of your business. The most widely used reports are the Profit & Loss statement and Balance Sheet. The Profit and Loss statement is simply your sales minus your expenses over a period of time. When you choose to display a report such as the Profit and Loss statement, you are able to drill down from each account to obtain the source of the amount in the report. For example, you see that your Travel Expense account has a balance of $1,000.00. You want to see whom you paid for Travel for the month, so you can place your cursor over the Travel Expense amount and double click to obtain a report that will show you the detail of transactions that make up the $1,000.00 spent. You can then further drill down to view the actual check written. The Balance Sheet report shows you your Assets, Liabilities and Equity of your business. Assets include what you have and what people owe you money, such as your bank account balance, inventory owned, accounts receivable, and fixed assets such as equipment and furniture. Liabilities include what your company owes to other people or your company debts. Examples include unpaid bills, money you owe on credit cards, loans, and sales tax you owe. Equity is the net worth of your company: equity = assets – liabilities. Other reports include detailed and summary sales reports, sales tax reports, inventory reports, vendor reports, sales tax reports, payroll reports, and many more.

Create a Professional Image QuickBooks also has other features that allow you to customize forms such as invoices, statements, and purchase orders you want to send to your customers and vendors. It will allow you to generate mailing labels and email messages to your existing customers and vendors that are setup in QuickBooks. You can also print checks on preprinted business forms.

Online banking is available with QuickBooks, which enables you to pay your bills electronically and reconcile your bank accounts monthly. This is essential to make sure you capture all business deductions to minimize your end of year tax liability.

Keep it Separate! You should not track personal finances, investments, and details not specifically related to your business in your QuickBooks company file. Mixing of personal and business funds makes tax preparation harder and more expensive in some cases if using an accountant or tax preparation service.

An accounting degree is not required to enter daily and weekly tasks in QuickBooks. QuickBooks is an easy to use accounting software program that allows business owners to manage their business more profitably.
